Summer means getting outdoors, traveling and increasing physical activity. It’s especially important to me that, with this change in lifestyle for the season, I match it with how I alter my supplement routine. When you’re short on time, on the go more often or looking to fuel your workouts during this season, some of the supplements I recommend including in your routine are: my Multi Collagen Protein, Bone Broth Proteins, Multivitamins and Probiotics.
Multi Collagen Protein
For anyone looking to amp up their exercise routine, collagen protein is a great option to aid in the overall support of your muscles and joints. Collagen contains amino acids, such as glycine and arginine, that aren’t highly available in other protein foods. These offer benefits such as support for joint health; gut health; skin health; promoting healthy nails and more. Plus, it’s easy to use, tasteless and odorless — so I don’t have to slow down to pack in protein or sacrifice for flavor when I’m busy during the summer.
I recommend getting your multicollagen protein in before and after strength-training workouts — if possible, within about an hour of your activity. Try adding multicollagen protein to a smoothie made with ingredients like coconutmilk or almondmilk, organic berries, hemp or flaxseed, and other superfoods like açai powder or maca.
Regardless as to if you prioritize eating a nutrient-dense diet, there’s a good chance your diet may still be lacking at least some essential nutrients — even if you include fruits and veggies in your meals each day. The reason a multivitamin can be beneficial for many people is because our modern food supply doesn’t necessarily provide the vitamins and minerals your body needs in total.
Formulated using the Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ancient Nutrition Multivitamin and nutrient formulas combine high-quality vitamins and minerals, herbal extracts, tonic mushrooms, collagen-rich bone broth, liver from cattle, wild fish roe and more. Generally, certain nutrients found in multivitamins, such as vitamin C and calcium, are absorbed better when taken in smaller doses. This means it’s best to divide the total dosage you take into two or three doses, taking part in the morning and the rest at night (with meals, if possible).
Probiotics are commonly referred to as the “good” bacteria. They live inside of our digestive systems and support healthy gut function and immune system function by maintaining normal microflora in the gut, keeping levels of “bad bacteria” low, keeping the lining of the intestinal wall strong and supporting normal regulation of gut-transit time. What makes Ancient Nutrition Probiotics unique is that they are formulated with a variety of probiotic strains and botanicals (triphala, ginger root, turmeric, fenugreek).
Probiotic supplements seem to work best when taken on an empty stomach. It can be helpful to take them at the same time each day to help keep yourself on a consistent track. Some people prefer to split doses and take them two times daily to enhance absorption. Ideally you should also consume probiotic-rich fermented foods too, including yogurt or cultured vegetables like sauerkraut.
Our nutritional products containing ingredients derived from whole food sources are designed to provide nutrients in a modern, convenient form to power the body and mind. Because of this, we diligently source high-quality ingredients that give you the nutrients you need for an active summer and for all the seasons to come.
